Welcome to
Sherwood United Methodist Church

“He said to him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.

In his final post resurrection appearance to his disciples in the gospel of John, Jesus has breakfast on the beach with his friends and then has a private conversation with Peter. Three times Jesus asks him “Do you love me.” Three times Peter responds that he does, and three times Jesus says, then “…feed my lambs”; “… “tend my sheep”; “… feed my sheep.”

At Sherwood United Methodist Church, we exercise our love of Christ by reaching out to those who are hungry in body or spirit. We are a small congregation that experiences the truth of scripture; that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Phillipians 4:13)

Since the early 1980’s our Helping Hands ministry has grown to include not just members of our congregation but has inspired many children, youth and adults of the Sherwood community as well as several corporate sponsors to join together to feed more than 65 families a month, and through our backpack program in the Sherwood schools, we provide more than 16,000 meals a year.

We welcome you to join with us to make a difference in the lives of families in Sherwood. We are sure that as you do, you will find that your spirit is fed as well.
