FAQs

What time is the service?

We meet every Sunday at 9am in the sanctuary. Following worship we have a chance to mingle and share during our coffee hour.

Do you have any activities for children during worship?

We invite children to participate in worship! After singing together, the pastor will invite children forward to listen to the children’s sermon. After that, children age 5-12 are released to Sunday School. Younger children can stay in worship.

Can I take communion at your church?

It is open to all. We are happy to commune with people from other churches, faiths, and those of no faith. At the communion table we practice becoming one beloved community.

How can I get a box of food?

Every third Saturday we distribute food boxes to anyone who ask from 9am-10am. If you are in need of an emergency food box, please contact the staff at Helping Hands at (503) 625-7975.

I like it here. How can I become a member?

If you would like to take your involvement with SUMC to a deeper level, we invite you to consider membership. Speak with Rev. Aric Clark for more details on how to begin the process.

Do you know the history of the land this church was built on?

We humbly acknowledge that Sherwood United Methodist Church was built upon the ancestral and unceded land of the Atfalati and Kalapuya. We honor their stewardship of the land and grieve their displacement.
